THE PAVILION CUP

TERMS OF COMPETITION

The Pavilion Cup is an 18-hole singles stableford competition and it will be played in accordance with the Rules of Golf and Amateur Status as approved by the R&A.  The competition is open to women who are members of affiliated golf clubs in Ireland and who hold a current WHS handicap.  A maximum playing handicap allowance of 36 will apply.

The competition will be played on Thursday 17th July 2025.  The time sheet will run from 8:30 to 16:30 and members booking is available via the Milltown GC website.  The time sheet opens at 10:00am on Monday 30th June 2025.

The CDH number for each person should be entered at the time of booking.  If this a CDH number is not available, a name and handicap may be entered.  However, THIS MUST BE REPLACED with a CDH number no later than Monday 14th July at 5pm.  This should be done by emailing

• your tee time,
• your name,
• your CDH number; and
• the name of your club,

to info@milltowngolfclub.ie.

The entry fee is €15 for members and €35 for their guests.  It is payable from the members’ General Purse and members may also pay for their guests from their purse.  Members should book by going to Upcoming Competitions on the member website.  If the booking is cancelled more than 48 hours before the day of the competition, the entry fee will be refunded in full.  Members should call the Office or email (info@milltowngolfclub.ie) to cancel.  If cancellation occurs within 48 hours of the date of the competition, or if the booking is not cancelled and the player fails to turn up, the entry fee will not be refunded.

The entry fee is €35 for visitors and is payable when signing up, with a credit or debit card using a secure on-line payment process.  The card will be debited with the entry fee at the time of booking a tee time.  To book go to the Visitors Section of the Milltown Golf Club Website, click on Opens and scroll down until you see The Pavilion Cup.  A blue “Online Signup” button will appear on the right hand side when booking opens.  Click on this and follow the instructions.  

If the booking is cancelled more than 48 hours before the day of the competition the entry fee will be refunded (to the card used at the time of booking) in full.  Visitors should call the Club (01-4976090) or email (info@milltowngolfclub.ie) to cancel.  If cancellation occurs within 48 hours of the date of the competition or if the booking is not cancelled and the player fails to turn up the entry fee will not be refunded.

 Competitors should wear neat and appropriate golf clothes.  Unacceptable clothing includes, but is not limited to, collarless shirts, beach, gym or athletic wear, denims, and shorts.  Suitable golf shoes must be worn.  Spikes may be worn but runners or trainers may not. 

Every player must check in at the computer, in the Pro shop, before the start of her round.  Visitors must check in using their CDH number.  Every player must be at the first tee ready to start her round at her designated tee time.   

In the event of a tie, the winner will be decided by card count-back using scores for the last 9 holes (or 6 or 3 or 1).  If a tie still arises the last 6 holes of the first 9 holes (or 3 or 1) will be used.  If no decision is reached, the winner will be decided by lot.

Prizegiving will take place at 10pm and prizes will be awarded to the top 5 placed competitors.  The winner will be presented with the Pavilion Cup and may have her photograph taken with it, but she may not remove it from Milltown GC.  Her name and the name of her club will be engraved on the Pavilion Cup by Milltown GC.
